There's Too Many Nouns To Get Out Of My Head
Iron Fist
Stay Clean
Be My Baby
Rock Out
Metropolis
Over The Top
One Night Stand
I Got Mine
Thousand Names Of God
Shoot 'em Down
In The Name Of Tragedy
Just 'cos You Got The Power...
Going To Brazil
Killed By Death
Whorehouse Blues
Ace Of Spades
Overkill
I'm back home from my annual 37hours round trip...Ears ringing after another perfect night last night; such was the superlative show put on by the noisy trio and support Girlschool despite the latter's short set (bah!).
Above is the Motörhead set list as I remember it, although no promises on the accuracy...it was as usual a night of musical oblivion when your humble narrator was once again uplifted in feverish delight. Not least Dear Readers due to the fact that I got to sing along in the sidelines to Bomber and Killed By Death with a certain bass-maestra, Ms Enid Williams...I jest not. Fuller details to follow as I ease myself back into the real world over the next couple of days...
Right now bedways is rightways

Ms Enid Williams?
I have no idea.
mind you at my age I'm pleasantly surprised to remember my name.
Glad you enjoyed old bean.
One can only assume you mean, the bass playing Ms Enid Williams from Girlschool? Awesome... do tell mate. As for your accuracy on the set list - looks spot on, from what I've seen (setlist.com & others) over the last 3 shows or so. As for the length of Girlschool's set, it seems they're banging out about 10 songs and that's it. Get some sleep and we'll look forward to your next post. We want details!!!
Sounds like you had an excellent time... looking forward to hearing the details!
A good gig from your account.
A 37 hours round trip ? Where the fuck, Löst Jimmy ?
"Bomber" is one of their best, and I still have fond memories of Girlschool on that St. Valentine's bash. Vermillion, too.
4D Bassist with Girlschool, my memory is on the slide as well old friend, to be honest it was never the best anyway
Ace Indeed it was, couldn't believe it. I went there blindly believing that Girlschool was on after The Damned and not the other way around, this was disappointing to me as the Girl's set was shorter than I would have wished. Nevertheless what was there was fantastic.
Fuller report to follow
Steve Thank you, it is my annual pilgrimage with I think only 2 exceptions - annually for the past 29 years. Creature of (bad) Habits?
ib I'm notoriously, unashamedly bias when it comes to Motorhead but it was an excellent outing this time I can honestly say, made better with Lemmy and Phil's banter working the crowd.
37 hours - yes; 5am to catch the 3 train legs south from the Highlands (read - Edge of the World) to Glasgow (8hours of train) then back up north by train - 2 legs at 8hrs or so the next morning arriving in the house at 6.40pm last night.
What weather in Glasgow on Thursday eh!?
Gale force gusts of wind with rainfall of cyclone proportions
Girlschool doing Bomber on the St Valentine's is a treat indeed
Was that in the Carling Academy ?
Shit. We overlook Bridge Street. Had I known, I would have invited you to crash overnight at our place.
The weather here - for the past three days, beginning Thursday - has been atrocious. My boots have only just dried out from a Thursday trudge through South Side roads which have since rivaled the Clyde. There are thick bands of salt across the uppers in a solid tidal stripe.
At least we are high enough up to escape water damage should the banks burst like they did further down south.
ib thanks for the kindness, it was indeed the Carling Academy (or rather O2 Academy nowadays), I stayed in the budget lodgings at ETAP over on Springfield Quay this time. It proves more affordable nowadays than the B&Bs I have stayed in down the years.
I walked from Queen Street station across the squiggly bridge towards the Quayside - my head ached with the freezing rain and gale force wind, the pavements/roads were awash with water - it was like a tropical storm without the heat hahaha
I am left wondering how the weather is now in your neck of the woods. Thursday was indeed brutal. Yesterday and this afternoon was little better.
The squiggly bridge would have been the worst exposed in Glasgow on ground level the time you were on it.
I went down this morning to buy a newspaper and huddled in the lobby for a good half an hour. As you mention, where some people report a heat shimmer we had something similar; vertical sheets of rain stirring the grass in the winds.
I am just poised to venture back out to purchase a bottle of wine. Some soup first. It looks like the rains have died down a bit.

I think it has been marginally better up here in Far North although the rain is chucking it down again tonight.
I hope you got that bottle of wine ok and are now safely tucked up in your abode.
Have a good rest of the weekend
Just got back from another gig, The Dodos in Antwerp. Most excellent and damn fine chaps to boot.
It's good to hear you had a great time with the Lemmeister bud. I take ithis throat infection has cleared up by now.
George Lemmy was on top form.
The album review coming up this very week - watch this space
