Sweet Sound of Hell

I'm not sure how to describe this delightful demonic disc, it's something different and definitely cruelly delicious.
This is occult doom, and one of my album choices of last year. You may have seen the occasional Ghost song popping up on my Playlists. I've livened up my Monday as the album ripples through my headphones, all the while I lay waste to the last of the fridge chilled Creme Eggs...

I'm on some kind of occult outrage at the moment, escapism as I shudder and shiver closer to what will be a season defining return to the factory tomorrow (in other words I'm rather afraid of the task ahead).

Anyway what can be more painful than dunking a rich tea biscuit gone wrong?
Sloppy horror as the once crisp and light galleta disolves out of reach in the turbulently hot Assam tea...

Playlist for Monday...

The Oath - Mercyful Fate
Living Legend - GENOCIDE nippon
Beyond the Realms of Death - Judas Priest
Don't Talk To Strangers - Dio
Winter Dreams - Accept

It's a good album but far from a classic in my view. Where are the classic riffs? It comes across as Hell-rock by numbers. Throw in a 666 here and a Satan there. While they undoubtedly look fantastic live and have a good grasp of the theatrical I feel the album lacks for want of a better word, soul. I look forward to better things from them in the future.

Toast - the album has a AOR feel at times, for me it is a refreshing debut and certainly offers promise of a bright future!

I am looking forward to their future releases but they really need to write some better songs and tone down the "pop". I feel the vocals are really weak as well. They seem to be getting all the hype so will do very well indeed but HELL are the real deal, it's a pity they wont be as big.

I don't entirely disagree but there approach is refreshing nevertheless and makes a change.

As for HELL that's what I call music!
Imagine for a moment of them, Iron Claw and GENOCIDE on the small billing!?
