As I opined to Steve, I'm rather choosy when it comes to films. I don't care much for the gritty stories in 'real' life dramas. The art of the likes of Leigh and Loach is to be applauded but I see enough keech in my daily world without wishing to be reminded of it when I'm gorging on my toffee coated popcorn in the stalls.
No it must be escapism for me, something to take the edge of, a horror, a chiller, even a B-movie...in fact the dark tale of The Black Swan, and the sight of Portman - Kunis entwined is all your humble narrator needs in the way of escape.
And talking of escape, I've a big thank you for Scottish author extraordinaire and Metal Head, Mark Rice...a hard copy of his latest work, the short story Revelation Was Wrong...out now for the Kindle priced a recession busting 77 Scots pence!
See your friendly neighbourhood Amazon website to procure your digital copy.
I'm listening to a 1980 inspired playlist this morning - and rather good it is too...
Metal Gods - Judas Priest
Neon Knights - Black Sabbath
Victim of Illusion - MSG
Divine Wind - Blue Öyster Cult
Love Me Like A Reptile - Motörhead

"Portman - Kunis entwined" - yet again you sell this to me so well! I shall have to watch it now.
Steve And it has now be enshrined in popular culture...see Portman-Kunis United http://portmankunisunited.com/
My opinion in short:
Love Natalie Portman
Hated the movie
Playlist totally brilliant
Frank - thanks as always. Live the quick fire answers!!
The 1980 year was great for Metal wasn't ?
I like the odd bit of gritty reality, Kes is a great example but escapism is far more to my liking from the musical delights of My Fair Lady to the revolting hell of Nekromantik.
I will try to see this film soon.
