Reise Reise

Pop Pickers before I launch into today's blistering worship of Rammstein I'd like to rant please...

I don't like the Foo Fighters, never have, I won't be featuring them in this Blog..
I don't care much for politics of any direction, it is littered with charlatans, hypocrites et al.
I couldn't give a XXXX for organised religion, or pontificating atheists for that matter.
Tesco in store Aberdeen Rolls are sub-standard examples of butteries.
Asia Argento is the most beautiful woman in the world and I will see her in cinematic 3D glory, starring in Dracula if it is the last thing I ever do...

Now then, your humble narrator is a long time Rammstein fan and with the exception of the lacklustre record Rosenrot the band's output has been exceptional.

As for the 2004 album Reise Reise, it is really Chock Full o'Nuts...
The songs keep coming thick and fast from its grooves...Mein Teil, Amerika, the title track, The Dalai Lama, Ohne Dich and Stein um Stein are on fire!

I bought this album on release and literally played the CD on perma-repeat driving through the night to the nation's capital. The sound of Keine Lust echoing across the Firth as my then ageing VW and I trundled over Forth road bridge...

As personal manifestos go... you get my vote.

I don't mind the Foo Fighters but have never felt the need to purchase one of their albums.
Politics? It's good for a laugh.
Religion? I have some good friends who are committed Christians but I just can't buy it.
Butteries? mmMMMMmmm but I will give the fakes a miss.
Asia Argento makes me rub my thighs in a Vic and Bob fashion!

Rammstein are the real deal and prove that you don't have to sing in English to be a worldwide success. Feuer Frei!!!

Count me in, another Rammstein fan here. Mutter has to be one of my favourite albums - just te right sort of music for motorway driving!

In a recent interview, Till said he hates loud noise and it's only masochism that has him singing for Rammstein.

I thought, WTF? Is he pulling our leg? Or is he in the wrong job?

Sexy GF though!

Politics? I stopped caring quite some time ago. I don't even read the paper anymore, let alone watch the news. It's all biased propaganda in my book. Ignorance is bliss.

Foo Fighters? I have missed out on most music since 1992 so that goes for the Foo Fighters as well.
I got one of their albums, though, In Your Honour which I bought for the outstanding No Way Out. I love that song.

As for Rammstein, what can you say? Fellow countrymen who are the object of metallic national pride the same way the Scorpions were in the 80s. I dig their sound because it marries electronic music and heavy metal so that the metal becomes heavier.

Had I lasted longer as a musician this would have been my direction.
